Boron carbide Heat-insulating Refractory Materials Iron and steel smelting
Product introduction
Boron carbide, also known as Black Diamond, is an inorganic form. The chemical form is B₄C. It is one of the three hardest materials known (after diamond and cubic boron nitride) and is used in tank armor, bullet-proof clothing and many industrial applications. It has a Mohs hardness of about 9.5.
Because of its low density, high strength, high temperature stability and good chemical stability. In wear resistant materials, ceramic reinforcement, especially in light armor, reactor neutron absorbent applications. In addition, compared with diamond and cubic boron nitride, boron carbide is easy to manufacture, low cost, so it is more widely used, in some places can replace the expensive diamond, common in grinding, grinding, drilling and other applications.
Character
Hard black lustrous crystal. Hardness is lower than industrial diamond, but higher than silicon carbide. Less fragile than most pottery. It has a large thermal neutron capture cross section. Strong chemical resistance. Not subject to attack by hot hydrogen fluoride and nitric acid. Soluble in molten alkali, insoluble in water and acid. Relative density (D204)2.508 to 2.512. Melting point is 2350 ℃. The boiling point of 3500 ℃.
Storage
Store sealed.
Product use
(1) Aluminum smelting industry. Used in national defense, aviation, automobile, electrical appliances, chemical industry, daily necessities and so on.
Precision casting. Bauxite clinker is processed into fine powder and made into casting mold after precision casting. Used in military, aerospace, communications, instrumentation, machinery and medical equipment departments.
⑶ used for refractory products. High bauxite clinker refractories up to 1780℃, strong chemical stability, good physical properties.
Aluminum silicate refractory fiber. It has the advantages of light weight, high temperature resistance, good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, small heat capacity and mechanical shock resistance. Used in iron and steel, non-ferrous metallurgy, electronics, petroleum, chemical industry, aerospace, atomic energy, national defense and other industries. It is to put high aluminum clinker into the melting temperature of about 2000 ~ 2200℃ high temperature arc furnace, after high temperature melting, high pressure and high speed air or steam blowing, cooling, it becomes white "cotton" -- aluminum silicate refractory fiber. It can be pressed into fiber blanket, board or woven cloth instead of smelting, chemical, glass and other industrial high temperature furnace lining firebrick. Firemen can make clothing from fire-resistant fibre cloth.
Using magnesia and bauxite clinker as raw material and adding appropriate binder, it is used for casting shenggang drum with excellent overall lining effect.
⑹ alumina cement manufacturing, grinding materials, ceramic industry and chemical industry can make various compounds aluminum.
