It has certain alkali slag resistance, high refractoriness and softening temperature under load, and strong iron oxide erosion resistance. Peridotite, serpentinite, pure peridotite and talc are used as raw materials and sintered magnesia is added in oxidizing atmosphere. The sintering temperature increases with the addition of magnesia. It can be used as the lining of non-ferrous metal melting furnace, steel making open hearth regenerator and cement rotary kiln.
